Prescriptive Pathways for One Rent Regulated Unit
Local Law 97, the centerpiece of New York City’s Climate Mobilization Act (CMA), mandates buildings over 25,000 square feet to reduce their carbon emissions 40% by 2030 and 80% by 2050. If your building comprises 35% or more rent regulated units you may be able to comply with an alternative compliance pathway. These prescriptive measures may still be costly and could take a significant amount of time to complete before the 2024 deadline. Cathal Gleeson, Principal Mechanical Engineer at Steven Winter Associates, will provide clarity on the CMA’s complex requirements and the steps you can take today to move your building towards compliance.
